Sizes

They're small! Very small. Around 3 inches. And thin, too. We all want to sell clients big prints and big albums, but when you show a client one of these little albums, you won't believe the reaction. Just think: everyone has big sound systems in their homes, but they need their Walkmans and iPods, too.

You may be looking for a list with sizes like 2x3, 3x3, 2.5x4, etc. You won't find any list like that here.

We don't restrict you to any particular size. That may be a difficult concept to accept after working with traditional album companies. But our business is based on miniaturizing whatever album you have already designed, whatever it's original size or proportions.

After you study the file preparation instructions, you'll understand our system. In a nutshell, you provide us files in which your spreads have been reduced to fit within a certain rectangle. They don't have to fill the rectangle, just fit inside it. We print the images onto 4x6 or 4x7 paper, and adjust our trimming operation to match the proportions of your album.

We do offer two rectangle sizes because we can print your spreads on either 4x6 or 4x7 paper. After allowing for trimming, this means your album spreads can be reduced to fit within either an 850 by 1400 pixel rectangle, or an 850 by 1650 pixel rectangle. At 250ppi, this means that a square album can be either about 2.75 or 3.25 inches square.

This may not seem much different, but the 47 version is 40% larger in area - it really looks a lot bigger. The 46 size is a bit less expensive, easily fits in a pocket, and is very cute - do not underestimte the cuteness factor in the appeal of these albums. The 47 size still fits in a pocket, but seems better suited for a pocketbook. It is certainly a bit more like a "real" album, better for moms with reading glasses. Not as cute. We've had couples get two - a 46 for him and a 47 for her.

Only square or horizontal albums end up bigger in the 47 size, since vertical albums are limited by the four inch heights of both print sizes.

We are not the only source for small albums, of course. But we try to be the best source for the new breed of photographer that designs fine art flush albums. No one can beat our service OR our price, and you're not tied into some here today, gone tomorrow, inflexible package deal from a big album company.
