Answers to form questionsNotes: Your order is processed by humans! Do not feel anxious about accidentally setting some crazy machine amok when you hit the "submit order" button. Also, we generally refer to sides as pages. Album name field: This is your own reference, e.g., "MaryBrad". The same name should be used in your file naming scheme, e.g., "marybrad01.jpg". More than five albums? Use extra forms - we'll charge only one shipping and handling fee. CD Transmittal: Place each set of album files in a separate folder - name each folder with the album name, e.g., marybrad. Internet Transmittal: After arranging all your files into folders, as you would for a CD, zip all your files into one archive. A typical album will be around 4MB. You then have two options: 1) Upload this file to your website server as you would any other website file (it will not appear to your website visitors, of course), and type the URL on this form, e.g., "http://mydomain.com/minis/order1.zip". Or 2) Use an online file transfer service like YouSendIt.com; you can use a free account for this sort of thing, and it's very easy and reliable. Album name: Enter a short name, like "maryBrad". It should bear some resemblance to your filenames. Album size: Your album will be produced by printing your spreads on either 4x6 or 4x7 inch prints, and will be trimmed to match your album proportions. See the file preparation instructions for details. If you choose 4x6, your images should be resized to no larger than 850 x 1500 pixels, then re-canvased to 4x6 inches at 250ppi (centered). If you choose 4x7, you'd resize to no larger than 850 x 1750 pixels and re-canvas to 4x7 inches at 250 ppi. Checklist: We expect that you will follow our file preparation instructions closely. The files should be in the sRGB color space, either 4x6 or 4x7 inches at 250 ppi. The actual image area should be centered and no larger than 850x1400 or 850x1650 pixels. The first page should appear on the right half of a file, the last page on the left half of a file. The files should be saved as jpegs. There should be n/2 + 1 files, where n equals the number of pages. For example, for a 24-page album you need to send us 24/2 + 1 or 13 files. The files should be labeled so we know which album they belong to and the order in which they appear, e.g., marybrad01, marybrad02, etc. (note the leading zero - we'll be relying upon a computer's idea of alphanumerical order). You may use a combined file for the first and last pages, but you must duplicate it and give them appropriate filenames. We usually carefully check your files for anything amiss, particularly if it is your first order. We cannot guarantee finding problems, especially when we may not understand your intent. Total cost: Our price structure is oriented around our costs. While a bit complex, perhaps, it is always fair no matter the nature of your order. Each album costs $13.00 plus 0.55 per page (46 size) or $15.00 plus 0.70 per page (47 size). This reflects our per-page costs and our per-album costs. Each set of files you provide incurs a $6.00 charge. This reflects our file handling/print job costs. Shipping and handling is $4.00 for 1st Class mail, or $9.00 for US Priority Mail. Orders of $100 or more must be shipped by US Priority. Please contact us for other shipping arrangements. OrderID: Choose anything you like. Try to use the same ID on your CD or archive, and in any other communications with us. Down the road, you may want to order another copy of an album we've already prepared once, so it will be good if you could simply tell us "order1/marybrad". Tell us how you are sending us your files. If you have uploaded a zipped archive of your file folder to your own website, enter the URL here, e.g., "http://mydomain.com/minis/order1.zip". |
